Saturday Musings
Jun. 6th, 2009 08:32 pmI occassionally wonder what various groups of my friends think of my posts on other topics. "Oh, no, not another Prophecy post," think my Pern club friends. "What is this Pern thing she keeps nattering on about?" think my LARPer friends. "I knew she'd lose her mind eventually," think my oldest friends. "At least she seems happy."
Went to the Silver Kingdom Renaissance Faire with the girls today; managed not to spend hundreds of dollars on garb, armor or accessories, for which I think I deserve an award. The merchant I'd hoped to buy new LARP gear from wasn't there, so my P3 costume will have to wait for the CT Renn Faire in the fall. The girls wore light dresses with capes over them, as it was too warm for their garb; no fighting this year, which is a pity. Saw lots of people from Prophecy, and a few old friends unexpectedly. May go back next Saturday. The girls loved the belly-dancing, and want to learn. They want to learn to fight, too.
Joy had a truly impressive nosebleed just as we were leaving, but with the assistance of Coll, Becky and Liz, we were able to mop things up enough that no one called the police. Managed to get the stains out, and fed everyone soup for supper--just too tired for anything else. Tomorrow is a friend (and former student's) graduation as an NP. I fear this is going to be the Weekend Without a Nap. ;)
