Pride and Prejudice and Zombies
Aug. 24th, 2009 09:22 pmIf you haven't read Jane Austen, here's the most painless opportunity you will ever have. If you are an Austen fan, this will blow your mind...but mostly in a good way.
This...adaptation? Expansion?...of Austen's classic work is mostly word for word from the original, with small changes and additions that make it a very different world and a very different story. Amazingly, the transformation does not feel at all forced. And as to it's success as pleasure reading...well, let's just say that I went to bed with it at 10PM, intending to read a few pages. I finished it sometime after 2 AM, completely unaware how very much past my bedtime it was.
I enjoyed the original Pride and Prejudice...but it certainly never kept me awake half the night!
