(Not) a Domestic Goddess
Dec. 24th, 2008 05:10 pmIn this week when I get to be a stay at home Mom, I'm trying franticly to create memories. Made pancakes for breakfast--turned out ok even though I left out the egg. Helped the girls decorate a gingerbread house, and refrained from micro-managing. Made gingerbread boys from premade dough, and used bisquick to flour the counter and rolling pin because I couldn't find the flour--which I think is in the freezer. (Don't ask.) The girls are delighted with all of it.
The second load of laundry from yesterday is still in the dryer, but at least the seafood chowder in the crockpot--HOMEMADE--smells good. I think I have to face it that I am not cut out for domestic engineering. At least the girls are young enough that my tendency to burst into song (occassionally in public) is still "fun" rather than "embarrassing". And I think everything is already wrapped for tomorrow, so tonight doesn't have to be frantic.
Merry Christmas!
